Computer Aided Mechanical Engineering (CAME) is one of the most rapidly developing sectors in
mechanical engineering. It covers the use of computing technology in all activities from the design of a
system or product through to its manufacture, with special emphasis on virtual design and analysis.
Industry is facing a growing shortage of specialists for the implementation, maintenance, and
application of CAE tools.
Engineers and scientists with industrial experience have developed
this joint master course in CAE for mechanical engineers taught at the Universities of Applied Sciences of Bielefeld and
the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences in order to provide graduate mechanical engineers with an
opportunity to specialise in this field and gain an M.Sc. degree.
The course covers advanced basics of CAE, mathematics, database management, physical and
mathematical modelling of engineering problems and their application in an industrial environment.
All lectures are complemented with extensive hands-on training on commercial up-to-date software
systems.
Graduates of this course will find a wide range of opportunities and openings in industry, in
research labs, software companies and engineering firms.
